To ensure the safest treatment and the best possible results, please review the following guidelines before your visit.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Alcohol can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.
Discontinue blood-thinning or anti-inflammatory medications at least 2 weeks before treatment (with approval from your healthcare provider).
These may include:
Aspirin
Ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®), Naproxen (Aleve®), and other NSAIDs
Vitamin E
Ginkgo Biloba
Ginseng
St. John’s Wort
Omega-3 / Fish Oil supplements
To help minimize bruising:
Consider taking Arnica and Bromelain before and after your appointment, as directed.
Plan ahead for special events.
Schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks before weddings, vacations, or important occasions. Mild swelling and bruising — particularly with dermal fillers — are most noticeable during the first
week.
Reschedule if needed.
Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance if you develop:
A rash
A cold sore
A blemish or irritation in the treatment area
If you have a history of cold sores, inform your provider ahead of time. An antiviral medication may be recommended prior to treatment.
Eat and hydrate before your appointment.
Arriving well-nourished and hydrated helps reduce the chance of lightheadedness during treatment.
Important:
Injectable treatments are not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
